Very misleading tour! Please if there is one review to read it’s this one. Dre was our tour guide and he was knowledgeable. Itinerary had us going to certain spots that we didn’t get to go because of time and our entrance slot to the African American museum. Dre walks the group near the museum after the tour and literally in a flash he was gone like the wind. We never gained entry into the museum. It was cold, windy and raining. The line for entry was hours long so we left. Don’t waste your time with this tour. You will NOT get into the museum unless you wait close to 3 hours plus. The museum was so packed the line was literally wrapped around the entire building. Dre made it sound like he was going to walk us in and then leave. His disappearing act was talked about by all the people on the tour and no one got entry into the museum. Waste of money and time. It was my wife’s birthday and she was very dissatisfied to say the least.

The trip started 30 mins late. The guide seemed very uninterested in the tour. We had time-stamped tickets for the AA historical museum, and were unable to get in because the museum was at capacity. It was very disappointing.

I am sorry that the tour started late and for the tour guide's behavior. This is not the standard of service which we strive for. Can you provide me with your booking number so I can look into this for you? Regarding the museum, we do our best to provide entry to the Smithsonian but it is a public institution which we do not factor into our ticket price. We have no special reservation agreement with them and simply access their public portal on Recreation.gov for tickets. It is meant to be a nice complementary addition after the tour as we know of the museum's demand but it seemed on this day they distributed tickets past their limit and that is unfortunate but out of our control. Aside from the late start, are there any critiques or improvements you can provide? We appreciate any feedback sent to [email protected]

Dre was knowledgeable, engaging and amusing. His people management skills were excellent. He ran a great tour. One surprise for us, though, was the terribly long lines inside the museum-we spent about half the time we were inside on lines. Bring a sandwich and eat outside before entering and you’ll have 90 more minutes to view the amazing exhibits.
