My husband and I did this first thing when we got to Boston - it was a great introduction to the city so that we could get our bearings and figure out the layout of the city. We based the rest of our weekend there on things we learned on this tour! Took about an hour, and was well worth it.

Within a minute of boarding the CityView Trolley, my family and I knew we'd made a good choice. Against the backdrop of a warm, sunny afternoon, our guide, Hugo, proceeded to deliver a non-stop monologue rich in historical factoids, Bostonian sarcasm, and good-natured potshots. The city was beautiful and Hugo's narration provided the perfect connection to what we were seeing as we rolled by. There are several trolley touring companies in Boston and I would imagine that they're all pretty good. But only one of them has Hugo. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend this hop-on, hop-off bus tour at the beginning of your visit to Boston that way you’ll know what you want to visit on the rest of your stay in Boston. CityView trolleys come frequently to the stops (we heard many people from other trolley tour companies complaining that they were waiting a long time for their trolley). Our driver/guide, Tom Collins, was hilarious and very knowledgeable about the city. His bostonian accent was wicked awesome! He had cool stories and recommended great places to eat. We had so much fun on this tour and we learned a ton about Boston! We combined our trolley tour with the boat tour for an extra 10$ per person and it was totally worth it! It was great to see Boston from the streets and from the water!
