Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon
Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

Don was our guide and he was engaging, funny and knowledgeable! Great stories and interesting locations, perfect way to explore the city on our first night! Highly recommend, especially if you are curious about the military history of the town!

We took the death and depravity tour with John at 10pm on 4th July. It was a fascinating tour with lots of interesting historical information and plenty of macabre stories told with great relish by a guy who clearly loves his job. Charleston on a balmy night provided the ideal creepy backdrop as we walked the city's tragic hotspots, graveyards and public buildings with a gruesome past. Really good fun.

Bert was our guide and he was the perfect blend of history and ghost stories. My kids (8 and 10) enjoyed the tour too.
