Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon

Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

My family and I took the tour over Memorial Day Weekend and we had an absolutely great time! Our tour guide was a girl and I wish I could remember her name but she did an excellent job! I was spooked and enthralled!

We did the death and depravity tour with Bert. It was awesome. He was so interesting and told the best stories my hair stood up on my neck. i learned a lot and feel like i haven’t touched the surface of charleston’s history!!! If you like history and ghost lore and want to find some cool places to visit in charleston you must do this tour!!!!

We did a 10 pm Ghost your with Dan. He was really nice and had some great stories. We got a nice tour of the city and he explained the many horrible things that happened to make Charleston such a haunted city. The 90 minute tour was enjoyable but we all expected to be scared to death. We wanted the chill down our spine experience but not on this night. Still a good time but not as scary as we hoped.
