Charleston Ghosts of Liberty Guided Walking Tour

Overview
On Ghost City's Ghosts of Liberty Tour, you will see Haunted Charleston in a completely new way. You will view the Holy City through the paranormal lens of those who risked life and limb for Charleston, and for the birth of a nation.

Combining aspects of Charleston's famous ghost stories with the lesser known haunted tales of the Holy City, the Ghosts of Liberty Tour is a never before seen glimpse at the ghosts of Charleston who, while living, fought so valiantly to keep the city united.

Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon
Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

Susan was our tour guide. She did a great job and we arrived at the 4 Corners of Justice just in time for the church bells to toll 11:00pm. Really dramatic when telling the stories there! We did the Death and Depravity tour but would definitely do other tours through this company.

My sister was visiting from Ohio, and my husband and I had done a ghost tour with Bulldog Tours previously and really enjoyed it! ā€”So we thought we would try to get a scarier tour, since my sister is really into this kind of thing. Iā€™m actually very surprised that these tours have received such good reviews. For being required to be ā€œ17+ā€... it was certainly not scary- and i get scared easily!! I think maybe it is just because the history of Charleston involved prostitution/brothels? Our tour guide was Don, and it was obvious he didnā€™t believe the ā€œghost storiesā€- which is fine (but at least try to sell it to us). He did tell us a lot about the history of Charleston, and told us about a few people that died, but didnā€™t really tell us about the ghosts or hauntings? Honestly just disappointed. When we were sitting for a couple of stories, one other guest was nodding off. While standing up! To make it worse, I think my guests were disappointed as well. I would recommend Bulldog Tours if you are looking for a good ghost tour in Charleston.

Lance was an excellent tour guide. He was entertaining and knowledgeable about Charleston. We did the late tour, highly recommended!
