Freedom Trail: Small Group Tour of Revolutionary Boston (2.5 Hours)

Overview
Boston's principal role in launching the American Revolution is linked by the brick-lined Freedom Trail. This world-famous pedestrian path is best experienced on foot, in a small group, with a knowledgeable local guide! This 2.5-hour tour travels the trail from Boston Common to Copp's Hill Terrace, providing guests a chance to see ALL SIXTEEN official landmarks on the Freedom Trail.

Our small-group walking tour delves deeply into the years 1760 to 1776, the tumultuous years leading into the American Revolution. We walk in the footsteps of Colonial Bostonians, all of whom grappled with the difficult—yet essential—question of loyalty or rebellion to crown and country.

With a captivating storytelling approach, Hub Town Tours provides the perfect introduction to Boston's status as America's "Cradle of Liberty." As we travel past historic landmarks from Revolutionary Boston, your guide shares the gripping story of a small colonial town careening toward war with a global empire.

We would HIGHLY recommend this trip for a few reasons: 1. They limit the group size, which may not seem consequential, but it IS. Having a small group allows everyone to hear the guide, and ask questions and stay together while walking through the busy streets of Boston. Even though it's slightly more expensive than an unlimited outing, do it! 2. Our guide was A-MA-ZING! Her name is Sarah and she was a History major - and you can TELL. She really knew her stuff and made the tour very interactive. She said she hadn't been doing this kind of work for very long, but she SEEMED like a seasoned pro! 3. You simply can't learn all of this great information from touring these sites by yourself. It's not possible. Sarah taught us about some inaccuracies that our History classes don't tell us. And it was SUPER interesting. I loved it! I wish we could borrow Sarah and take her with us to other cities we plan to visit! ;) So, do yourself a favor and go on this tour. We did it on a Sunday morning and that seemed like a good timeslot - it wasn't too hot yet and the city was pretty chill. I don't know what a workday would be like, but probably pretty crowded on the streets. Thanks to the tour operator - and SARAH, of course - for a great experience!

This is high praise, indeed! We couldn't help smiling while reading your incredible testimonial, Linda; this is the sort of amazing feedback that makes tour guiding so rewarding. Sarah is a passionate student of history, local museum docent, and—as you experienced—the consummate professional tour guide. Informed, engaging, and eager to share her town with guests! We are so lucky as a local operator to have guides as phenomenal as Sarah on our small team, because the guide is always what makes the tour! Thank you, sincerely, for recommending Hub Town Tours as a 5-star experience—we'll make sure to congratulate Sarah on a job well done!
