This French Quarter walking tour is conducted by city licensed guides and emphasize the history, architecture, and folklore of this fascinating city. Tour and store proceeds benefit Friends of the Cabildo, a non-profit volunteer group to provide support for the Louisiana State Museum. Purchasing a walking tour ticket also gets you admission to the 1850 House Museum, above the store, that shows what life was like in a typical Pontalba Apartment in the 1850s. Restroom is provided for walking tour guests as well.

We use the VOX Whisper System. Staff is responsible for cleaning each machine. The ear and mic buds are disposable. Units will only be used once per week to allow for rotating a clean unit to guests & guides. Guests can remove mask outside during the tour, inside state law requires a mask.

This is a very good tour, because the guide does such a good job of explaining the history and social context of what you are seeing. The architectural styles.of buildings and the cuisine of ordiinary people are emphasized.

The walking tour was AWESOME!! Our guide Monique was knowledgeable about many topics from water management, terrain, immigration, slavery, transportation, architecture, and music. Most informative!! I would highly recommend taking this tour if you want to know about New Orleans' French Quarter. It was a treat!

Our guide was Ann Savoy who gave an interesting, informative and passionate recounting of the history and architecture of various residences, monuments, art work, churches and public places. She is a life long resident of New Orleans and retired teacher. Her love of the city and its history was evident. I highly recommend this guided tour and I would ask for Ann if she is available.
