This French Quarter walking tour is conducted by city licensed guides and emphasize the history, architecture, and folklore of this fascinating city. Tour and store proceeds benefit Friends of the Cabildo, a non-profit volunteer group to provide support for the Louisiana State Museum. Purchasing a walking tour ticket also gets you admission to the 1850 House Museum, above the store, that shows what life was like in a typical Pontalba Apartment in the 1850s. Restroom is provided for walking tour guests as well.

We use the VOX Whisper System. Staff is responsible for cleaning each machine. The ear and mic buds are disposable. Units will only be used once per week to allow for rotating a clean unit to guests & guides. Guests can remove mask outside during the tour, inside state law requires a mask.

This is a great way to learn the history of the French Quarter and orientate yourself with the area. The guide was lovely and very knowledgeable

We originally visited the 1850 house last fall but arrived too late for the walking tour. Fast forward to spring... we spontaneously decided to travel the bridge over to NOLA specifically for this tour. It did not disappoint! Our tour guide, Charles, was articulate, knowledgeable and funny. My husband and I are locals and learned some very interesting facts about the architecture and history that we didn't know before. Highly recommend this tour and look forward to attending other tours and talks put on by the Friends of the Cabildo.

James did an excellent job of sharing the history of the French Quarter. As a resident of the area he was able to answer all the questions of the group and provide local help to transportation and restaurants.
