Starting in Jackson Square proceeding to the river and circling back through the French quarter to Jackson again, the guide on this tour never stopped giving us historical background, interesting connections with film and literature, local colour and amusing explanations. I especially liked the stories about particular local characters, linked with the places we visited. This tour is run by highly knowledgable volunteer guides and the proceeds support the good work the FOC do for the museums and related attractions of the city. It is excellent value. What's not to like? We loved it.

Kate was our tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. Not only did she tell us about the history of New Orleans and the French Quarter, but she eagerly answered our questions, pointing out a great place to get New Orleans signature cocktails and where to get great muffalettas in the French Quarter. Needless to say, we followed up on her recommendations, and they turned out to be some of the high points of our trip.
