French Quarter Walking Tour With 1850 House Museum Admission

Overview
This French Quarter walking tour is conducted by city licensed guides and emphasize the history, architecture, and folklore of this fascinating city. Tour and store proceeds benefit Friends of the Cabildo, a non-profit volunteer group to provide support for the Louisiana State Museum. Purchasing a walking tour ticket also gets you admission to the 1850 House Museum, above the store, that shows what life was like in a typical Pontalba Apartment in the 1850s. Restroom is provided for walking tour guests as well.

  • We use the VOX Whisper System. Staff is responsible for cleaning each machine. The ear and mic buds are disposable. Units will only be used once per week to allow for rotating a clean unit to guests & guides. Guests can remove mask outside during the tour, inside state law requires a mask.

A group of seniors visiting New Orleans was given an amazing walking tour of the French Quarter, the Cabildo Museum and the 1850 House. It was a terrific way for us all learn about history in New Orleans. All guides were knowledgeable and informative. A delight.

Only liscensed guides do these tours for non-profit Friends of Cabildo. Kate took us to the waterfront, a behind-the scenes look at the market, we got a great and entertaining summary of NOLA history, architecture and food. Be sure to see the termite bait stations and architecturally correct cell phone towers,
