Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

This 2 hour tour was an amazing value and experience overall. Our group was small so it was easy to get through a ton of information and have everyone's questions answered by our guide, Palmer. It is clear that she cares so much about the city. With all the information she's researched that you can't help but be amazed by her enthusiasm and extensive knowledge. She also did an outstanding job breaching sensitive topics, which impressed me. We covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time, and I highly recommend this tour!!

Palmer was our tour guide and she really was fantastic. She was incredibly knowledgeable and gave a lot of interesting takes during each stop. You could tell she really had a passion for her city and it made the tour that much more enjoyable. Our group didn't ask a ton of questions (probably because she was so thorough with her explanation of everything) but the questions we did have she had the answers to. I definitely recommend this trip - she will point out some bars & restaurants that she suggests along the way and overall it's a nice exercise (especially if you are there to eat & drink all week like we were).

As first-time visitors to Charleston, this tour was exactly what we were looking for. Palmer's extensive knowledge of Charleston's history and entertaining delivery brought the stories and characters to life!
