Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

The tour was excellent, and we really enjoyed Palmer as our guide. She is kind, witty, and very knowledgeable. We learned a great deal of Charleston history on this tour, and passed by many of the popular historical sights. The tour provided us first-timers with a great overview of the city and its layout. This is a great tour!!

I booked this tour about two weeks before my trip. I ended up running into someone who lives an hour away from Charleston a few day later who personally recommended it so I knew I had to keep the reservation. Coach was our tour guide and he was phenomenal. I take a lot of walking tours and Coach blew it out of the park. He took his time with us and answered our questions and he really knows his history. If you're lucky enough to visit Charleston definitely take this tour and count your blessings if you get Coach as a tour guide.

This is one of the best tours anywhere, on any subject. Bill Harris is knowledgeable, passionate, humorous and and full of incite. It was a thoroughly enjoyable three hours discovering historic Charleston. Don't take this tour if you are looking for a sanitized version of history. However, if you are interested in the real history of Charleston and, in large part, the south, if you are interested in what happened and more importantly, why it happened, do not hesitate to take this tour. Bill engages with you. You are not a passive listener. I recommend this tour without reservation and urge everyone visiting Charleston to take tour. You will not be disappointed.
