Mendenhall Glacier Lake Canoe Tour

Overview
Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE hiking on a glacier.

Matt and Kelby were great guides. We had 13 people plus the 2 guides. They were careful to keep the families together. They gave us lots of break from rowing and had good snacks provided. It was a fun and engaging excursion that is highly recommended. They provide all of the gear needed and Matt had a microphone that made it very easy to hear all of the information that he had to share with the group. They were also very big on safety. Matt and Kelby make a great team. Matt was very funny. They had warm drinks for us at the end of our tour. BTW--Hi Matts mom! He's doing great!

Kevin was super informative bring out many good fact of Juno as well as about the Glaciers and wildlife. Really a good workout on the canoe with a group of 10. Made it very close to the Mendenhall Glacier. Great experience! Drove us back to the ship as well.

We had such an amazing time with Bryce! The pick up area was easy to find at the cruise ship terminal. The bus ride was beautiful. All of the gear was in really good quality like almost new, and we loved the xtratuf boots! We had perfect weather, full sun, I think it would be a really crazy experience in the rain. The commentary as we paddled about the animals around us was great, didnā€™t get to see the porcupine but really enjoyed the trip. Seeing the glacier was wonderful as it got bigger and bigger the closer we got. Seeing lots of beautiful glass icebergs as well as we paddled was wonderful. We were in a large group of strong paddlers which I think made the difference between a cool time and the amazing one we had. Got back to the van for some hot drinks and snacks and were so happy with the super unique experience. Thanks Bryce, hope no one lets your cat out again!

Ah yes, Xtratuf boots, the Alaskan sneaker! We definitely take great care of our gear, you may have had a sunny day but our usually conditions require only the best of gear! That's great you enjoyed your paddle with Bryce, the icebergs are unreal this season! Thank you for joining us on the Mendenhall Lake!
