We hired e-bikes and toured the bike paths on our own, including across the GG Bridge and in to Sausalito which was a delightful little village with lots of restaurants. The ferry is a good way to return, but be prepared, get in line well ahead of the departure time to ensure you get a place on board (about 20 cyclists missed out when we went). The staff at Blazing Saddles are super friendly and helpful. They're very efficient and have you on your way very quickly. Make sure you book online for a 20% discount. Highly recommend

Hired the cheapest bike (non electric). Cycled the bridge and back. Bike was very good and well maintained. Staff gave an excellent briefing and provided maps. We took the day option ($32 / day) but only got charged $28 when we returned the bikes after 3.5 hours use. This is a very good bike rental outfit.

We had such a great time riding bikes across the Golden Gate Bridge and over to Sausalito and then back on the ferry. Our kids are 12 and 14 and bikes fit perfectly. The staff was so friendly, amazingly helpful and upbeat. We showed up (either location would work), they greeted us in a friendly manner - and we felt excited to be there! Hard to find this level of customer service anywhere these days. Watched a short video (nice quality) and they fitted us w/ bikes, helmets and we were on our way. Easy route, even the hills and then over the Golden Gate. The road to Sausalito was fun. We rode through town and had lunch and then took the ferry back. That was a great experience. You can take any ferry back. Regardless of what location the ride after the ferry was a piece of cake - even for the kids. Although the ferry ride back was a great experience I think next time we'll pay the extra $ to leave the bikes in Sausalito. Once less thing to do. Bikes were good quality. Helmets felt good. Great places to stop along the route. Love the bike rest stop area - great place for a quick snack, bathroom break or picture moments. Next time we'll plan to head up to Muir Woods. Maybe make a picnic, leave a little earlier and enjoy that part of San Fran. All in all will definitely be back!!
