Overview

Walk, talk and taste your way through historic Charleston South Carolina. This small-group 2.5-hour tour will immerse you in the history and culture of the Lowcountry and allow you to experience a remarkable culinary scene in downtown Charleston. Stops along the way will include many of the city’s leading restaurants through out the city. Typical tastings include: stone ground grits, Southern pralines, sweet tea, collard greens, Lowcountry barbeque, and fried green tomatoes.

Built in the early 1800's, this four block historical landmark was originally the city's grocery store. Today, the City Market is home to a variety of local vendors that sell their art, crafts, and local wares.

Listening to the guide give us history lessons on the food and areas we walked. Wish the food was a little more local and maybe more smaller bites. First stop was a chain restaurant that didn’t really give me Charleston vibes. The stop for biscuits was mediocre and unorganized. The restaurant seemed annoyed we were there.

The guide lady was nice. The first choice of breakfast choice was also good. But overall the choices seemed poor and no variety at all.

The tour guide was really informative and explained everything that we would be doing on our tour. She gave us time at each stop to enjoy the atmosphere (restaurants & neighborhood walking) and to shop if we wanted to do so (spice & tea shop). At the end of the tour I had a full belly and happy heart. The tour guide and other guests made it extra wonderful. I feel that this tour was a great value for the price.
