Overview

Walk, talk and taste your way through historic Charleston South Carolina. This small-group 2.5-hour tour will immerse you in the history and culture of the Lowcountry and allow you to experience a remarkable culinary scene in downtown Charleston. Stops along the way will include many of the city’s leading restaurants through out the city. Typical tastings include: stone ground grits, Southern pralines, sweet tea, collard greens, Lowcountry barbeque, and fried green tomatoes.

Built in the early 1800's, this four block historical landmark was originally the city's grocery store. Today, the City Market is home to a variety of local vendors that sell their art, crafts, and local wares.

Good info on local cuisine history by our very knowledgeable local guide.Enjoyed,delicious food and exchange of cooking tips from our guide and pleasant fellow foodie travelers. A great value!

Our tour guide was fabulous. We enjoyed the food stops. Disappointed there was no shrimp and grits. Pace was perfect with time to shop a bit. Would have loved a little history of Praline making at the sweet shop. Overall a very good experience.

We did our food tour today with Fran. She was filled with so much food knowledge from recipes she enjoyed as young girl in Charleston to the restaurants around the city. She also gave us a lot of food history specific to Charleston. I was able to try things I probably wouldn’t normally order and I regretted none of it. The food portions were plenty to keep us full for most of the day. I would definitely try more tours with this company. Thanks Fran!
