This is not a rating (it’s a reminder) as I did not attend - it was pouring rain and was advised it’s a rain or shine event (not sure how that would work in off and on downpours). So be sure to check the forecast because you can’t switch it and when buying multiple tickets it’s an expensive lesson.

suerS8829DT, Bless your heart, we are sorry to hear that you did not attend the tour. Unfortunately, Charleston has been struck by a long strand of cold and rainy days (on par for February for us, but at least it's not snow!). We are a walking tour company specializing in history, culinary, and ghost tours. Being that they are walking tours, we are going to be outside and are subject to weather conditions. Our culinary tours do go into restaurants, but there is still a walk in between stops. You are absolutely right that we go rain or shine and we always advise our guests to check weather forecasts to come prepared for any weather condition that may occur. Also, in "off and on downpours" we still continue to walk and provide the best tours in Charleston. Sorry you missed it.

All the food we tried was fantastic. However, I was expecting the tour guide to include information about the buildings as we passed them and history of Charleston. The tour essentially just gives you food that were staples of Charleston- which includes grits, fried green tomatoes and rice, tea and spices, and pralines. I would have rated the tour higher if the price were lower. I’ve been on food tours in other historic towns and this one did not measure up to the others I’ve been on.

731nataliej, Thanks so much for the feedback of the culinary tour. We are sorry you were disappointed in the narration of the tour guide. Rest assured it will be addressed. On the culinary tour we try to provide local favorites of Lowcountry cuisine as well as the rich history that surrounds it. Clearly, we did not deliver and would like to make this up to you. Please feel free to reach out to our Tour Guide Manager, Andrew Kuhn, at [email protected] so we can provide a full refund. Thanks again for the feedback and for visiting Charleston with us!
