Surfing - Group Lesson - Waikiki, Oahu

Overview

Learn to surf on this 2-hour group lesson on Oahu. Join a group of students and discover how to ride the waves like some of the Island's most famous celebrities with the help of a certified, professional instructor. We have small student to instructor ratio of 1 instructor for every 3-4 students. Waikiki Surf Lesson starts a 10 minute safety slide show inside our surf shop, followed by heading to the beach and practicing on the sand for another 10 minutes. In our 20 year experience, we know that surfing is muscle memory, so when first timers master their surf stance then they tend to get up on their very first wave.

Booked a 2h surf group lesson. The office staff were nice and helpful. But the actual surfing instructor was uninspired and lacked any personality. There was a very small group of us attending the lesson. Instructor gave hardly any tips and didn't really try to make any small talk. He seemed to be more bored than being interested in teaching us to be better surfers. Overall this lesson was not a very memorable experience.

We had a group of friends who had never surfed before. The two hour intro to surfing lesson was perfect and we all managed to grab a wave and stand on our boards. Hans Hedemann Surf School certainly knew how to put on a great class and how to get the best out of each of us, thanks for an awesome afternoon 🤗

I took beginner surf lessons in a small group last tuesday with Jimmy & Keola. Before taking the lessons I thought that it is rather difficult to learn surfing, but Jimmy & Keola made it really easy for me and the other participants. We first got an introduction regarding safety, how to carry our boards and how to act in the water. It was nicely and easily understandable done with the help of photos and videos. After that we took our boards to the beach and practiced the basics about paddeling, having the right position on the board, how to turn around and stand up etc. They took good care that everybody understands and gets the right technique. Once on the open water they helped us well to catch the waves and made sure that everyone was able to stand up and ride the waves. I loved to learn something new and take on the challenge. They really encouraged us and made sure we had a fun and amazing experience. I definitely left with the wish to learn more and have found a new hobby. I highly recommend taking classes with them.
