Surfing - Group Lesson - Waikiki, Oahu

Overview

Learn to surf on this 2-hour group lesson on Oahu. Join a group of students and discover how to ride the waves like some of the Island's most famous celebrities with the help of a certified, professional instructor. We have small student to instructor ratio of 1 instructor for every 3-4 students. Waikiki Surf Lesson starts a 10 minute safety slide show inside our surf shop, followed by heading to the beach and practicing on the sand for another 10 minutes. In our 20 year experience, we know that surfing is muscle memory, so when first timers master their surf stance then they tend to get up on their very first wave.

My brother-in-law and I had a private surf lesson with Freddy and it was great! He was really good about instructing us on technique, and he took us out a bit farther so we could catch some bigger waves. I'm not the strongest of swimmers, so when he saw me struggling to paddle back out, he rescued me a few times by hooking a foot on top of my board and paddling me out. I got up the first try! Reef shoes and a top rash guard are provided by the company, and you also get a CD of all the professional pictures taken of the whole group. I would highly recommend this company and Freddy!

I spent the morning at the Hans Hedemann Surf School in Waikiki. It was my first time surfing and the private lesson was definitely worth it! Thanks to Jimmy and his infinite patience and surf wisdom. I had a wonderful time and will definitely try it again.

We had an excellent instructor Duke and there were 2 instructors between 5 people. Watched a brief video about the rules and then straight to the beach. Instructor was very patient and gave loads of encouragement. You will end up standing by the end and will ache the next day!
