The Bonneville Salt Flats Tour

Overview
The Bonneville Salt Flats are a unique geological wonder seen in very few places around the world. We will travel there (1.5 hour drive one-way from Salt Lake City) in a 9 person Van. We'll share some amazing geological facts about the lake, it's history and current state. The expansive wilderness and drive to the Salt Flats is simply incredible.

While the drive is quite far to the Salt Flats from Salt Lake City, we stop a couple times to help break it up. We drive by the southern edge of the Great Salt Lake and stop at the Visitors Center. We stop at the Tree of Life Sculpture and at 2 different points at the Flats themselves

*The Salt Flats dry in the summer and typically wet in the winter.
When wet, it's often calm, sending mirror like reflections of the mountains in the background.

If it's wet we'll bring our gum boots and walk out into the flats. The photo opportunities and Views are endless!

Walk: Easy + Flat, 1 mile out and back.

Stopped by the Bonneville Salt Flats during our road trip. It was easy to locate and get to. Unfortunately, there was no driving on the flats due to water standing on the area. Heavy snowpack was causing water issues when we visited.

Seeing the salt flats was a unique experience as there are not many places like this in the world. Blake’s tour was very informative and made the trip worth the experience. Getting to walk out on the salt flats was an experience that you can’t get many places. Blake made sure that he had waters shows for everyone on the tour, even making a special trip to the store morning of the experience. The drive can be quite long but Blake made the trip seem not as long pointing out wildlife and giving information on the area, even stopping to take pictures along the way.

Great experience!! The drive is a little long but definitely worth going to see. The guide provided foot wear we needed & had lots of knowledge about the area. My daughter & I enjoyed it and would recommend taking the trip. I feel doing this as a guided tour was very beneficial to the experience vs driving there out there ourselves.
