Drive on America's most scenic road, the famous Seward Highway, and stop at spots like Beluga Point to scan the landscape for wildlife. At the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, see where injured and orphaned animals are brought to be rehabilitated, and observe large mammals like caribou, bison, and elk. Lunch is not included but available for purchase at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Later, drive through the Chugach Mountains, before finishing the guided, small group tour with pick up and drop off in Anchorage.

What To Expect
1
Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is a sanctuary dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife through conservation, research, education and quality animal care. AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round and provides them with spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Most of the animals that arrive at the AWCC become permanent residents and will always have a home here. The Center maintains over 200 acres of spacious habitats for animals to feel at home and display their natural “wild” behavior. Visitors may see brown bears cooling off in the water, a bull moose strutting, wood bison roaming on pastures and more.
2
Beluga Point
This is a popular stop as you travel the Seward Highway. Here you'll find 180 degree views of Turnagain Arm. There's an extensive viewing area with spotting scopes and interpretive signs. This is an excellent spot to watch the bore tide. The incoming tide stretched the entire width of Turnagain Arm and can be six feet high as it rushes in. Watch for kayakers and surfers riding the wave for several miles. Look for beluga whales rolling in the surf (starting in September)

The Portage Glacier was beautiful. Enjoyed coming in so close. Lunch? at Wildlife place was not so great.

This tour was well spaced between activities and transportation: A beautiful drive to Beluga point with a nature talk; couple of hours at the AK conservation center which was up close w many animals, then finishing at Glen Alps for sensational views of Inlet and mountains. Highly recommended. Kids would also love this.

I have to mention that the tour guide was not wearing a mask. That was not my preference, especially with Delta becoming a huge threat. But other than that, the tour was amazing! The guide was extremely knowledgeable and took us to a number of off-the-beaten-path locations. Maybe my favorite tour of the trip!
