What To Expect

Atlantis Submarines Waikiki

The Atlantis submarine Hawaii adventure begins with a short (approximately 10 minutes) shuttle ride out to the submarine boarding site. Descending below, your time underwater on the Oahu submarine tour is around 45 minutes. Returning to the world above, your shuttle is waiting to return you to land. The Oahu submarine tour dive site is home to many Hawaiian fish, coral and turtles. On this truly eye-opening experience, you'll visit sunken ships, airplanes and other artificial reefs. The submarine has a spacious air-conditioned interior, large view ports and comfortable seating. If you haven't taken a trip to the bottom of the ocean before, the Atlantis Submarine Oahu Adventure is a "must do" for the whole family during your visit to Hawaii. Check out the world's largest hi-tech 64-passenger submarine offers an enhanced amount of personal space and large viewports only available to Premium Tour passengers.

To begin with, they gave me a discount because it was my 60th birthday! Yay them! I have done this before, loved it, and the second time didn't disappoint. It's a long submarine ride amongst reefs both natural and man-made, and wrecks. The windows are large and the seats spacious......you don't feel crammed in. The guide is knowledgeable and personable. You see turtles, a myriad of marine fish, eels, rays, coral, and if you're lucky...…..a white tip reef shark asleep under the plane wreck wing. Highly recommend the larger of the 2 subs.

From start to finish it was amazing! The staff/crew were great. Of all the excursions we’ve been on, this was by far our favourite. From the man made reefs to the sunken planes and ships, we were always looking at something. The turtles are so cool in their environment. We saw scuba divers diving round the sunken ship. The fish! Beautiful! I wouldn’t hesitate to do this again.

This was on the cruise list for "accessible" excursions. And was it ever! My husband was able to do the minimal walking to get on & off the sub & his scooter was left in the care of the employees on the pier (these are really important to disabled folks). As to the ride itself---- what a great adventure. One hundred feet under the sea to see fish in natural reefs & also in man-made reefs. Lots of pictures! Our guide Jim was fun & well versed in the fish & locations, Really glad we spent our day with Atlantis. (As mr. said: Best day ever!"
