We love food tours and do them almost everywhere we go. This tour was just average. The tour guide was not engaging and although somewhat knowledgeable did not truly engage with the clients. The food stops were mixed. The lobster roll at Reds in the Boston Public Market was great but the stop at the nearby nut shop was tasty but inconsequential. Overall, this tour palled when compared to other tours we have done in other world class cities.

Thank you for your feedback on our tour. I’m so glad that you enjoyed the lobster rolls. I’m sorry that you weren’t impressed with the nuts, as what makes them so unique is how they’re prepared. We apologize if the guide or nut artisan didn’t do an adequate job explaining how original the flavors and cooking process were. I’ve also spoken with your guide to ensure that she remains engaged in conversation even when our guests are enjoying their food. We hope you try another Secret Food Tour in another city.

We did the North End Secret Food Tour as a way to check out places to return to for another night’s dinner, and we found so many possibilities! Our guide Nikki was knowledgeable about the food purveyors, it’s preparation, and explained why she chose those particular places for tastings. The tastings were substantial and served as a very satisfying lunch. An added bonus was learning some of the area’s history! We loved this tour!

I went on the North End Boston food tour and absolutely loved it. Taylor was our guide and she was not only informative about the area but also the food itself. I didn’t want the tour to end, it went so fast! I will definitely be doing one in a different country. I would really recommend this as a solo traveller.
