When time is limited, trolly tours are a fun way to see and learn about a place. They're my go-to in a time crunch, and I've done enough of them world-wide to consider myself a connoisseur. This tour lacked personality. It reminded me a lot of a school history lesson. Sadly, we didn’t get to see St. Armand Circle at all. The on-sight, free parking, complimentary bottle of water and washroom were welcome.

I am sorry you did not appreciate the historical City Tour. this tour does focus more on Sarasota history. We have four guides who lead this tour and each provides the tour focusing on their specific area of expertise. Kathryn's is the history of Sarasota. Steve focuses on the performing arts, Jon on area things to do and Pat on the natural habitat/boating/fishing and outdoor. And each tour is different based on the audience so please try us again for a different tour and guide and I think you will be very happy as our many thousands of guests have been.

My wife and I are "snowbirds" who have been enjoying Tampa Bay, including Sarasota, for 50 years. Yet the tour showed us SO MUCH of which we were not aware. And it all was done in a cheerful upbeat manner whiles coasting along in a jolly, little trolley.

I appreciated our guides historical knowledge but was overwhelmed with so much information. On hindsight, I would have preferred it if the experience was peppered with photo opps, the Unconditional Surrender Statue, for example. I was also a bit miffed that I had to drive back and take photos. I had assumed, incorrectly, that picture taking was part of the tour. My bad. As it was we didn’t even drive by the afore mentioned kissing sailor; something was said about too much traffic! This tour was not the best use of my hard earned hundred dollars (approx. price for 2 tickets.)

I’m confused about what you expected on a public art tour. There are more than 56 pieces of public art on this tour that change every week due to new installations and road construction. The Unconditional Surrender was moved last summer to a spot that is not accessible by vehicle as the guide explained. Photo oops are not something we stop for as the rest of the guests on our tours should not have to wait for one person who wants to take photos as we would get many complaints and waste a lot of time. All pieces of art are easily googled with images available online. The point of the tour is the history and stories of the art and the artists which is quite interesting. I’m sorry you did not understand that.
