One of the best food tours I've done! Atlanta is the city built on food and you’ll dive into its food-loving past while tasting modern Southern-inspired flavors. Like fried catfish and okra with cucumber wasabi sauce and raspberry hibiscus meringues. Before catching our bus to New Orleans for Halloween, we decided to explore the culinary palate of Atlanta. And honestly, it’s one of the best we’ve tried in our US trip. Atlanta Food Walks: Grant Park Past & Future Food Walk Tour The Atlanta Food Walks tour features 12 modern and Southern fusion tastings from 5 locally owned food stops. It’s a 3 hour, 1.2 mile small group tour (there were 12 of us) around the Grant Park, including a ‘haunting’ jaunt through the historic Oakland Cemetery. The tour took us to 5 stops around the Grant Park neighborhood: Six Feet Under Pub & Fish House, Young Augustine’s, Growler Shop, Republic Social House, Little Tart Bakeshop. We took a detour/breather stop to Oakland Cemetery in between stops 2 and 3. Our favorites would have to be the Six Feet Under where we had the tasty fried catfish and okra fingers and the soulful shrimp corn grits. Also enjoyed the super tender short rib griled cheese sandwich and the ooey-gooey chocolate chip from the Little Tart Shop. Our 30-minute stroll around Oakland Cemetery was a spooky but great breather stop. All in all, I’d totally recommend doing the Grant Park Past & Future Food Walk Tour with Atlanta Food Walks. Joy had a light yet engaging energy, friendly, and was very knowledgeable. In fact, everyone in the group loved her so much that no one wanted to leave after the 5th stop! The food tastings were good representations of what Atlanta tastes like – Soulful and TASTY. See you at the next bite!

I HIGHLY recommend doing one or both of the tours that Atlanta Food Walks offers. Whether you are just visiting the city, new to the area, or just want to see Atlanta through some different lends its definitely the way to go. My boyfriend and I have done the Downtown Southern tour twice and the Grant Park once. For us its a great way to entertain our out of town guest, and they have all loved it. The guides are super knowledgeable about both the food and the history. Its clear that they have taken the time to do their home work. They keep the history part fun and entertaining while making sure you get to fill your bellies with some delicious food. Honestly, I just can't say enough good things about Atlanta Food Walks! Shout out to Lauren...she is one of the guides for the Grant Park Tour and does and amazing job. I learned so much about the history of Atlanta. Thank for the fun afternoon. Ashley

A great tour that we both enjoyed. Generous portions in five different locals! Lauren (our guide) did a great job of explaining the local history and food. What a great introduction to the neighbourhood!
