Swimming and Beach Adventure at Tenaya Lake for Families

Swim, picnic, and play games at Tenaya Lake. This is a private day trip for families looking for a way to have fun together, while including kids and even grandparents!

You will:
• Spend a sunny day on the shore of Yosemite's most beautiful lake.
• Your guide will provide all the food, drinks, and beach gear, so you can simply show up and have fun with your family.

When you arrive, you'll find your guide has already reserved your place on a sandy beach. Your guide will take you to a spot where beach chairs, beach blankets, towels, a wagon full of games, hammocks, snacks, and a cooler full of cold drinks await.

After swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the lake together, your guide will serve you a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, you can choose to take a leisurely stroll around the lake or swim and play games!

You'll get to enjoy family time, eat great food, and see Yosemite's most beautiful lake with no planning, setup, or cleanup required!

The pathway to the beach is only .25 miles. It is quite flat, but gravely. Wheelchairs equipped to deal with outdoor grit, rocks, and sand could possibly make it to the beach.

I went on a trip with Jesse and my family. There were about 10 of us and Jesse planned the perfect day! He knew exactly where to go and set up everything for us. I loved having something to do in Yosemite to take a break from the hiking. Plus I have a young niece (she was 1 at the time) and she was able to do this activity as well. It was such a special day and I highly recommend the experience for anyone. The snacks were an added bonus that I wasn't expecting (guess I wasn't paying attention). The food was really good. It was clear he had thought about exactly what to serve for this situation. Normally I don't like to go back to places, but I'd definitely do this again! Bring a book!

My family and I had the most amazing day at Lake Tenaya thanks to Jesse! 10/10 would recommend to families with kids (or grandparents) of all ages! My husband and I went with my parents, my siblings, and our one year old baby, and the day seriously couldn’t have been better! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. The granite mountains, the fresh air, the smell of pines, the crystal clear turquoise and deep blue water, the warm sun and perfectly cool lake - aah I just want to go back! Jesse had the kindest heart and was such a pleasure to be around. He was beyond prepared and made the day so fun, easy, and relaxing for us. He brought us snacks and sandwiches and coolers filled with waters and drinks. He had chairs and towels for everyone, a big blanket to lay on, and EZ up tents for shade. He had games to play, a frisbee ring to toss around, and binoculars so we could look up at the top of the peaks around us and see climbers! It made the day extra special to feel so taken care of, and it gave me the freedom I needed to relax. The only things that we brought with us (and I’d recommend you bring if you have a baby) were our standard diaper bag (that I did add a toy shovel and collapsible bucket to), milk and pouches (that Jesse let us store in the cooler), and our stroller and baby carrier backpack (since our baby couldn’t walk yet). The stroller was great for our short walk to the beach and to put our baby down for her nap in. And the baby carrier backpack wasn’t necessary, but it was nice to have because there’s a trail that goes around the lake, and if you want, you can take a small hike on it with your baby in the carrier. The part of the trail that we did was very flat and could easily be walked by a toddler, so if your baby is walking, no need for the carrier! Anyway, it was the most perfect day, we saw a part of Yosemite I never expected to see, and I think it’s a day we will all remember and look back on with a big smile!
