Your experience is very unique because it is on a specifically designed whale watching boat. There will be only up to 13 guests aboard so there is plenty of room inside and out for everyone. Your experienced captain is a local resident with a great deal of knowledge of the wildlife and area, and lots of good stories to tell. Our tour length ensures that you have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the beauty of our area and the incredible wildlife. We’ve been sharing our part of the world with enthusiastic guests for over 25 years and would love to share it with you, too.

À quoi s'attendre

Hoonah

We will meet you at the Excursions Hub and transport you in our van to Hoonah (a 5-minute drive), where you will board the boat for your whale and wildlife tour. After returning to the harbor, you'll be met by the van and driven back to Icy Strait Point.

We had a fantastic experience with Glacier Wind Charters. They picked us up from the cruise port and took us to their very modern, clean, spacious and comfortable boat. We really appreciated that there were clean toilets available, as well as hot chocolate and snacks on board for everyone. The crew was wonderful – they were chatty and knowledgeable about the area, and gave us a tour of the town as well. They even recommended the best places to have lunch! This was honestly the best whale watching tour we have ever done. It was incredible – and all thanks to this small family run business! We would highly recommend Glacier Wind Charters for anyone looking for an amazing experience in this part of the world. You won't be disappointed! Thanks again to Glacier Wind Charters for making this a trip we will never forget. We had an amazing time and would definitely use them again in the future. Highly recommended!

Loved the whale watching tour! Shawn took excellent care of our group. He knows exactly where to look for whales, sea otters and harbor seals. He was in contact with other boats to find them and share locations with them too. I would definitely book with them again!

Great tour with limited capacity, which makes your experience very enjoyable. We saw 3 hump whales, and had amazing time. Family owned business, our captain was very knowledgeable and friendly.
