We did this on a whim and were lucky to get on this tour - they went above and beyond to get us on it. Our tour guides were Jaylyn and John and they were amazing! One thing I will say is that it's a lot of physical activity and even though we did it a couple days ago, I'm still hurting LOL. I would say you need to be experienced with kayaking and hiking, bring lots of sun protection - hat, sunglasses, sun shirt, long shorts over knees, and closed toe shoes, and a water proof phone necklace or something to hold your phone if you want to take photos. Do not go on this tour if you are inexperienced or not super active - instead pick a 3 or 4 mile tour they offer. I probably won't do it again because it was a lot for me even though I have experience, but it's something I'll never forget.
A couple recommendations: please don't put condiments like mayo on the sandwiches (maybe put some packets on the side). It looked amazing but I couldn't eat it because it doesn't sit well with me so all I could eat were the chips, cookie, and pickle and I was looking so forward to the sandwich!
Also, make sure you go to the bathroom before the tour! There's no where to go once your on it so make sure you do that before you get on. And once your on the tour there's no way off it so make sure you're up to it and don't go out on the town the night before. Also, don't book a flight or plan to travel home after - you'll be exhausted. Give yourself a day or two. Transportation isn't included and uber or lyft is not reliable this far from Las Vegas so you'll need to hire a car or taxi company in advance or get a rental car. Uber or Lyft will run you around $100 each way so you're just better off arranging it. Also, some people have been left stranded as a result of relying on lyft and uber. And don't be late!
We will be back for a shorter tour, maybe the campfire one on our next trip!

The full day Hoover Dam tour is a physically demanding tour, but so worth it. We work with everyone to make sure the day is great. We practice patience and also motivate our guests. Be ready for a good workout because 12 miles is an accomplishment you will be proud of. Take pictures and soak it all in, don't take it for "granite".
