Luau Kalamaku z kolacją w formie bufetu i pokazem

This gets a 2 star solely because of how good the show was. The food was mediocre at best. Several members of our party had intestinal issues the next day. We paid extra for the premier seating. We had wedding party of 12. They broke our party into 2 and 10 and insisted all parties of 12 ask for that. There were 2 more 4 top tables next to us empty. We could have been split up into 3 4-tops. We split ourselves into 4 and 8 and the seating person was mad because she was going to bring 2 salads and a bowl of 10 salads to the 10 top. We told her 2 people at the 4 top would go over there to get their salads. She then left us to move our own place settings. No butter came with the bread at the 10 top and when they asked for more rolls butter the servers acted upset. At the end I spoke with management to ask for the price difference back considering what happened and management would not listen or address the issue. We will be disputing the chatges through our credit card. Another fun fact was that drinks were very inconsistent between bartenders. Some were so strong you could barely drink them and some were very weak. The garnishes for drinks were gone within the first 20 minutes of service. The roasted pork was so salty you could barely eat it and tasted like it had been made in a crock pot. I suggest you choose a different location for a luau on Kauai.

This was a lot of fun! The staff was very friendly, always smiling and helpful. The food was good and plentiful. All you can eat buffet, and open bar with fruit juices, sodas and more adult choices. The seating is assigned by table. Here’s a tip: get there early for the best seats at your assigned table, that way you don’t end up with your back to the stage. Before the show there are local arts and crafts displayed on the lawn. You can have your picture taken. You can tour the plantation on a train ride. The show itself is amazing. Wow! So much energy! Our only disappointment with our experience was that we had pre purchased tickets including the train tour, and arrived to find the train had broken down. That portion of our ticket was refunded, so no harm done. We will try for the train ride again next time we visit the luau.

Not a traditional luau at all. The costumes were mediocre at best, highly offensive at worst. Half of the show wasn’t even hula—it was modern dance. The dancers did great, but whoever came up with the concept and thought that putting modern dance on stage at a luau should be fired. I felt like I was at Cirque du Soleil, not a “traditional” Hawaiian luau. A lot of the costumes for the hula dances were cheap and tacky, too. There were women dancing with fire (fire dancing is traditionally done by men). They were wearing weird dragon-lizard costumes, which is not something I have ever seen at a luau before. Super weird, and made me feel guilty for even being there. It all felt like a massive exploitation and bastardization of the Hawaiian culture. I already don’t like going to luau for this reason, but this was the least traditional and most offensive I’ve been to. I’m not kanaka, but I can’t imagine that many kanaka would be okay with this. It was an entertaining show, but it should not be marketed as a luau. There were lots of vegan options for dinner, which was nice for me, but no purple potatoes or poi, which was disappointing. Also no vegan dessert options. I believe that haupia is traditionally vegan, but theirs wasn’t. So that was a bummer too because I love haupia. The open bar is nice, but don’t forget your ID if you look under 30, because they do card you (not all luau do).
