We really enjoyed our tour. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the history of the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. He was a local resident, a 7th generation member of his family from the area, and was able to pass on so much information. We saw a mama bear and her two cubs in the woods, in addition waterfalls, streams and beautiful scenery. We shopped at several local businesses, including a pottery store where we sat and watched an employee spinning vases. It was mesmerizing to watch, we could have sat there for hours. The tour was a lot of fun. We learned a lot and we would highly recommend it.
Really nice day. Dustin was great. A nice way to see the National Park. Lunch was great too. We stopped at Elvira's. Some light hiking trails are optional which was really fun too.
Everything began as it should we arrived at the visitor center early and so did Dustin the tour guide, after all the other guest arrived we started on our trip. We then started our tour through the Smokies and just before the first stop we noticed high wind and limbs falling into road, we stopped at first stop and was enjoying the beautiful scenery of mountain stream and lush vegetation. About two miles after the first stop we saw a park ranger with help pulling a small tree from road we then proceeded on our way and then saw a much larger tree in road, in just a few minutes the same ranger came up behind us and told us we had to get out of the park pronto. Dustin then had to back the bus at least a mile to find room to turn around. All roads into the smokies were closed and Dustin had to come up with plan
B. He backtracked and did the latter part of the plan and then showed us Buffalo, art district etc., being a local he knew every pig path in the area so we had a marvelous trip, I know the original trip would have been great but we had an adventure not a tour. You will be in the most capable of hands with Dustin and he is a great communicator. Best tour I have ever been on and if not in capable hands would have been a disaster.
