Head to Haleiwa and learn the basics from a licensed surf instructor who stays by your side, ensuring you catch gentle but rideable waves. Beginners, hang loose — your 2-hour lesson takes place in a protected cove at Haleiwa Beach Park, safely away from larger ocean swells. Choose from multiple options: group, semi-private or private family lesson in the morning, midday or afternoon.

Carol was a fantastic teacher. Even though we were a group of 5 she made sure to give you personalized pointers each time to help improve so you can catch the next wave. She made me feel very comfortable in the water (even though I'm usually a little anxious in the water). Highly recommend the 2 hour lesson as you will have rest time waiting your turn. Highly recommend booking with North Shore Surf Girls! Great memories.

North Shore Surf Girls instructor Jen is terrific!! She is very patient and knowledgeable. I had a BLAST and highly recommend this activity to everyone - go before you get too old.
