I have never written a review on this or any site, but I thought since our experience was so poor, I would have to this time. First I have to say that the customer service in terms of information, attention and friendliness was excellent. Everything else was mediocre at best. First thing was they told us we would be picked up at 7:45 and the tour would begin by 8 am. They were very nice and kept answering our calls after our driver, rad still had not arrived by 8:15. He finally got there at 8:25 and seemd to attempt to make up for lost time from that moment forward. The whole experience was basically time on the highway driving past places where we couldn't stop. Brad was informative during the fist 10-15 min. as we drive through Waikiki into Honolulu, but then reached a lull. We stopped at the Dole Plantation and that was OK. Got a great beach bag and souvenirs. No "FREE" pineapple was had by anyone in our tour group. We stopped for the snorkel activity for "about an hour". He seemed unaware of what equipment was provided. " I guess they have some snorkeling stuff in the back you can go through. No fins, but here it is". We stopped for "about an hour" not the 90 min. listed. There was a stop at a "historic" town. Why? I have no clue. We did go to a couple of boutiques and a CVS, which is Long's Pharmacy on the island. For lunch (which was supposed to be 30 min. according to the driver) but since every tour group in the area (we saw approx 10-12 tour buses parked) went to the shrimp taco truck, we went to another area. This was no fault of our driver or the tour company. To his credit, Brad drove us approx. 5 miles down the same road to another area with lots of food truck choices. The place we chose was pretty good. The Huli huli chicken stir fry was awesome! The next stop was the Macadamia nut farm where the staff seemd less than enthusiastic to see us. Who can blame them, we were probably the umpteenth tour bus to go through there. Macadamia nut samples were pretty good. If you must go, the cinnamon sugar were our favorite. Next we went...NOWHERE else. We drove around the highway looking at the ocean lap against the parks, picnic areas, pieces of broken highway, and then he made a U-turn and declared there was too much traffic and he was going to "skip the last couple stops" because there was just going to be too much traffic. This was OK with some on the tour, but not me, as I was looking forward to seeing the Byodo-In Temple. Not sure if the driver, Brad was contracted out or an employee of Pineapple EXP but he was certainly having an off day. Waste of money and time. If you enjoy driving around all day, this tour is for you. Otherwise, please choose another tour.
