We considered touring the city with one of the name brand international touring services. Based on reviews here, though, we decided to spend $52 with Adventure Sightseeing for a bus tour of the city combined with a boat tour of the harbor. We boarded the tour bus at the visitor's center, which was convenient. When you go, be sure to arrive early to get a parking space!! Our bus driver and tour guide Shawn has an encyclopedic knowledge of Charleston history. He's professional, friendly, and approachable with questions you may think of beyond his very engaging narration. He even gave me some advice on restaurant selection from a local's perspective. The bus is impeccably clean, and the climate control was perfect. For those who are serious about COVID precautions, masks were required when we went on May 25. If you want quality touring at a great value, go with Adventure.
