My adult daughter and I were planning a trip to New York and I wanted to book a tour that would allow us to see as much of New York as we could in a day. I also wanted a tour that would not require extensive walking because I have osteoarthritis. I found and booked Best New York Tours online and shortly afterwards the owner Sheldon called me to find out what our interests were to get an idea of what to include in our tour. The day before the tour Sheldon called again to find out what we had seen and done so far in New York so he could further customize the tour. The day of our tour Sheldon and his driver were really in sync as his driver would drop us off at one corner and be at the next corner to pick us up. Sheldon is a native and really knows New York and it’s history. We got to see sights and locations that we would not have with other tours. It was also a very moving experience to tour the World Trade Center Memorial with Sheldon due to his experience and knowledge of the September 11 attacks and of the memorial. My daughter and I are foodies and we enjoyed getting to “graze” at some New York eateries during our tour. Sheldon has quite a sense of humor and at times we felt as though we were touring with Larry David, creator of Seinfeld. If I am ever in the market for a tour in the New York area again, Best New York Tours would be my choice.

I truly cannot say enough about Sheldon’s Private Tour. My family and I (my husband and 3 kids) booked Sheldon for a special day to see parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Not only was he an amazing tour guide, his Mercedes sprinter van was so luxurious and clean and his driver was simply amazing! (My son and I are prone to car sickness, but there was none of that on this tour!) Sheldon had fun facts about all the buildings we were driving by, stopped frequently for photo ops, showed us the best places to eat, stopped at little places that were off the beaten path and not your typical tourist traps. He is a New York local and showed us all around town, creating the most memorable of experiences. We enjoyed his tour so much, we didn’t want it to end! So much so, that we booked a second day with him where he took us all around Long Island and showed us places we would’ve never been able to see had we gone ourselves. We visited beaches, local mansions, ice cream shops (like you’ve never tasted before!), parks and monuments. This was a trip we’ll never forget! New York can be quite overwhelming, but Sheldon made it so much fun! He has a witty sense of humor, charismatic NY charm, impeccable taste for fine eats, fascinating storytelling abilities and a true talent to make all ages - young and old - enjoy their time. Thank you Sheldon! We can’t wait to come back. And when we do, we hope to see you again!

I highly recommend Best NY City Tours with Sheldon Lapidus. I was traveling alone with two small children. Sheldon meticulously took care of every pre-planning, during, and after detail (even made sure we arrived back safely to Allentown). Our driver Yakub was careful, professional, and timely. Our guide Chris was absolutely amazing and perfectly customized a driving and walking tour for my children. My daughters are still reciting fun facts and rich history. It was worth every penny and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Bravo!
