Awesome guided tour through the Castro district. A must do while in San Francisco. Kathy Amendola is knowledgeable and takes the time to answer all questions. Thanks for the education Kathy.

I had such a great time on the tour with Kathy. It was informative and fun. Our tour ran over time as we asked so many questions! Kathy is a real sweetheart and very open. She was sensitive and politically aware. I felt like I was visiting a dear friend who was taking me around town. This was a tour where each person was welcomed for who they were. I learned a great deal. For me, seeing the Harvey Milk sites was incredibly stirring. I cried when I saw parts of the AIDS Memorial Quilt as I reflected on friends who have passed. The Castro has huge historical significance for the gay rights movement and it was such an honor to be there. Kathy kept us amused and even stopped to ask a local about the furry tail he was wearing. We even got a Kathryn Hepburn impersonation out of it!! We laughed alot. It was a super morning together. Easy to meet up with, on time and easy to book. I highly recommend this tour which is Informative, thought provoking and fun. It is a great way to start your visit to the Castro.

I booked the Cruisin' The Castro tour mainly for my daughter, who is a passionate supporter of LGBTQ rights, and she was excited to visit the Castro for her birthday trip to San Francisco. I enjoyed it as much as she did, and that was all because of the awesomeness of our guide, Kathy. We were the only ones on the tour that morning, which made it extra special. We also prepped ourselves by watching Milk in the hotel the night before so the history was fresh in our minds. Kathy spoke on the history and culture from the perspective of someone living in the neighborhood, which was really insightful. She had us both crying when we visited the AIDS quilt display, in awe of the agave in bloom at the Pink Triangle Park, laughing at the famous window display, and learning about the meanings behind various flags, colors, and symbols as well as famous activists we were unfamiliar with like Jose Sarria. We ended the tour at the Human Rights Campaign HQ and former site of Harvey Milk's camera shop and then visited some of the spots that Kathy had suggested to complete our afternoon. I highly recommend this tour, Kathy as a guide, and visiting this neighborhood in general!
