Myself and my partner booked the tour with the wonderful Kathy. To say that we learned a lot is an understatement! Very interesting and informative tour about Castro districts history. Kathy also helped us out with directions and advice generally on San Francisco. Would recommend the tour to others.

I loved learning the rich history of the Castro district. Our guide , Kathy, knew the neighborhood inside out, and obviously cared about it very much. We learned so much more than history! We had espresso along the way and took home a tiny piece of a local peace garden. I am so glad we decided to do this rather than just walk the neighborhood.

Our four-adult group REALLY enjoyed Kathy's walking tour of the historically important and highly impactful Castro neighborhood... we especially learned about the impact of Harvey Milk who championed equal rights for ALL, including of course LGBTQ people. Kathy's passion is evident and enjoyable, and her insights in pulling together happenings in the mid-20th century (Nazi Germany / pink stars), late-1960s and the awakening of a culture of love, and then of course the impact that Milk and George Moscone (mayor of SF) had in the late '70s, and how that impact continues to show up today in the Harvey Milk Academy where young children learn about the values of acceptance, love, and social activism. Other important topics such as the scourge of HIV / Aids and the amazing quilt project are also featured. A truly memorable and inspiring tour - takes ~2 hours.
