Half-Day Retractable Glass Top Tour in Rocky Mtn National Park

Experience a taste of life at Rocky Mountain National Park, on this tour you will do it all. You will travel up above the trees, over two miles above sea level. You will get to take a short hike or two and see fast flowing snow melt, waterfalls, and glaciers. Come and experience the awe inspiring beauty that is Rocky Mountain National Park, or “Rocky” as the locals call it. Our knowledgeable guide will give you an in depth guided tour telling you all about the science and history of Rocky and its animals. This tour travels up the famous Old Fall River Road. We will take a half-way break at the Alpine Visitor Center(closed during PM tour), which is the highest altitude visitor center of any national park. Upon leaving the Alpine Visitor Center you will journey across Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous paved road in North America, reaching the highest point on the road at 12,183’. Coffee, hot drinks, and cold refreshments as well as a variety of snacks are provided while on board.

Went on the four hour tour with family on Oct. 9, 2023. Our tour guide Zach was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the area and spoke confidently of the animal life and flora of the park! The vehicle was comfortable and well supplied with snacks and drinks. the top was open for a good deal of the tour when temps allowed. I highly reccomend Purple Mountain Tours and would use them again in a heart beat. Thanks Zach for a great tour! Bob Johnson

If you want to tour the Rocky Mountain National Park without any worries you’ll miss the best sights, book this tour!!! First of all and most important, the bus has panoramic views because of the glass, retractable roof. It was chilly so we kept the roof closed. But for a summer trip it would be awesome to go with sides and roof retracted. The ride itself was smooth! This was a luxury ride stocked with a coffee machine, snacks and drinks. (And I’m not talking basic stuff, they had healthy options too) The bucket seats were super comfortable plus the phone jacks with provided chargers came in handy. Our guide, Zac, was full of historic info you wouldn’t get driving in alone. He also made extra stops if there was something unexpected to see, like animals, etc. There are lots of tours around… I looked at a lot, but if you want great views and comfort, use Purple Mountain Tour Company!

The owner Zac was incredibly knowledgeable about the topography, the animals, the season, and the history of RMNP! He knew where to stop for great views and photos. He answered our questions and was so friendly and funny. The retractable glass top and vehicle was the best! Seats were very comfortable. He had lots of snacks, drinks, charging cables, blankets and when we stopped at the top ( Alpine Visitor Center) he made us hot chocolate’s and coffee. We -all 9 of us had the best time. We would recommend anyone who wants to experience the park and all its beauty to book Purple Mountain Tour!
