We had a 2 day ticket to enable us to see New York at the beginning of our stay. The whole experience was terrible. We could only sit downstairs on the first day because it was full on top. It is impossible to see out of the window downstairs. Because of this, we got off after 3 stops and walked for a while. we were unable to find any of the stops after that. The second day we arrived at the main pick up point only to be told that the bus was not coming to that stop and we would have to get on at the next stop. We did that, got a seat upstairs and thought we would stay on for the whole tour. Unfortunately after 90 minutes, the bus had only moved 2 stops. this was because the traffic was gridlocked. The commentary was practically non existent and we were subjected to children songs -the wheels on the bus-and terrible jokes. It is pre recorded. No apology from the driver. We decided to get off the bus because it was like some for of torture. A complete waste of money for 5 stops!

Unfortunately, there were several parades and city events taking place in Mahattan which did cause delays and detours on our route. We thought this would be the fastest and easiest way to get around manhattan and hit the best areas. Unfortunately that was not the case. The traffic is horrendous and it basically feels like riding around a city bus. There is no tour guide. They give you ear phones to listen to pre recorded “information” about places you drive by or near and it’s seriously lacking. They say a few words here and there then play music. The timing of the recorded info is off so it may say something about a building you have either already passed or haven’t gotten to yet. Also, they don’t drive past a lot of places they should, rather you just get close by. They don’t tell you “if you look to your left, you’ll see…” We leaned nothing. Also, in the summer they should offer water to everyone because it’s hot as crap. We ended up getting off and caught a cab to get where we needed to go.

I was traveling with my 90yr old Godmother who was in NY for the first time and your company treated her like a Queen! She thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience on your Big Bus Tour! Will definitely come back to do this again! Thanks everyone!!!
