A Ghost tour with a twist! See haunted sites in the French Quarter on this 2-hour small-group ghost tour of New Orleans (max of 22 per group.) This is the only one that features 2 augmented reality experiences created by artist Marcus Brown. Hear ghostly legends and lore from your entertaining guide, who shares eerie tales featured on the History Channel. With its colorful past and unique traditions, it’s no wonder that so many New Orleans’ homes and taverns have been investigated by paranormal investigators!

This walking tour includes 2 augmented reality experiences with more in development. Gray Line commissioned native New Orleanian Marcus Brown, a sculptor, painter, inventor, musician and educator whose work includes national and international exhibits and performances.

*The AR exhibits are compatible with iPhone or iPad. It is not necessary to download an app to participate. Guide will offer other viewing options to Android users. Standard data & internet usage required.*

When it rains in the French Quarter of New Orleans, the locals swear that a beautiful voice floats out of the mist. After you hear the story of ‘Bloody’ O'Reilly vs. Pere Dagobert – an 18th-century priest of St Louis Cathedral – you just might hear the singing rain too! Start your ghost tour at Jackson Brewery, where you’ll meet your entertaining guide and set off to various haunted sites. There's no guarantee you will spot a ghost, but you'll see where you're most likely to meet one!

I hate leaving poor reviews, but occasionally it is necessary to instigate improvement. This visit was June 8th, 2024, and I was taking a friend to NOLA for the first time. I have used many services for ghost tours in the area, and like many tours, the guide makes all the difference. Sadly, ours was losing her voice. She couldn’t project more than about 5 feet, and so you couldn’t hear her. This might have been okay if it was a small tour. In fact, when I booked the tour, it said the cap on participants was 14 when most allow 28. Well, that was blatant false advertising. There were 26 in our group. My friend is a technophile, and this tour advertised augmented reality. Well, when the tour started, the guide said it doesn’t work well with android phones. He downloaded an app, and got it to work. You have to scan a QR code at each stop….with 28 people trying at once. Then the images were worthy of an 80s zombie movie, his words. There will always be hiccups when experimenting with new technology, and I absolutely give the tour company props for trying. Sadly, this was not ready for deployment. We gave up and disappeared down an alley off Jackson Square to find our own ghosts.

We regret that you experienced difficulties with the technology. As we roll this out with a historian/artist we have posted that it does not always work with Android devices. Our tour number is usually about 14-16 people. We will be sure the tour manager takes a long at why their was a larger number. Our apologies for your disappointment.

This tour was a waste of money. The tour guide over exaggerated during all of the stories, which took away from what could have been a great history lesson and a great tour of the city. Very disappointed. We ended up leaving because it was so bad.

Unfortunately we are not sure how the stories were exaggerated and although it share history it is also based on city lore.

Worst NOLA experience of the stay. The tour guide was difficult to listen to and the tour was exceptionally boring. After over an hour of traipsing around trying to engage I left the tour and went and got a fabulous dinner! This is a city rich in history, culture and legend. It doesn’t need the plastic vampire teeth sensationalism. Not does it need the tour guide maligning other tour companies. I feel cheated out of the chance to hear the legends and history of the city. Also, if you’re an international visitor, the AR is unlikely to work on your device.

The swamp tour is just right for many people and the ghost tour for others. Your guide with Gray Line should have been focused on the stories, tales and lore of this unique city.
