The guides and instructors were great! This was my first time doing multiple day rafting. I needed a gluten free diet plus some help because I am recovering from fractured ankle three months ago. The food was excellent and gluten free without any problems. I was consistently given my walking stick as soon as we docked onto land, so I could navigate the rocks safely. They made sure I used a safe method in and out of the rafts because of my weaker foot and ankle. We had COVID to deal with and masks were required on land except when eating & drinking or in tent, six foot distancing and very frequent handwashing for everyone. I felt very safe.
We learned history of the area, I learned how to navigate some of the easier rapids in an IK and it was lovely to have camp, food and tent provided. When I flipped my IK and had to swim, they were right there to help out with getting me back in and going again. I was able to jump in the big raft for the tougher rapids.
Phil, Ross and Anjelica, our guides, were awesome to hang out with going down the river all day. I did not have much contact with the DeReimer kayak instructors, Phil and Sami, during the day, but they were lovely to visit with in camp and I learned a lot from their flat land classes in the morning before we left camp.
