My family and I have become huge fans of Segway tours. They are so fun to ride to begin with, but you can also cover a ton of ground in a short time, and when you add the combination of a guided tour they just make all other types of tours seem out-of-date. Kind of like going from a Walkman to an iPod.
We've done them in multiple cities, including DC, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston and even St. Martin. But the Sonoma Segway has been the best of the bunch.
First of all, the location is so well suited to Segways. Lots of territory to cover, beautiful scenery and tons of paths, bike lanes and gentle country roads to traverse. We went several miles and didn't even realize how far we'd travelled.
Second, wine, cheese and Segways. These are three of my favorite things..... How can you get better than a Segway tour with wine tasting stops in some amazing wineries (not just wineries but special wineries) and Vella cheese, which has the best Jack cheese anywhere we've tried.
Third, Hunt is the man. Never had so much fun on a tour. He knew we were experienced riders, so kept the orientation to the basics and off we went. Covered lots of ground, had great insider stories everywhere we went, and we became friends on the ride. Couldn't believe how long we stayed out and the time just flied. Carrying our wine back in his panniers just made it even more amazing.
Cannot recommend this tour enough, whether you've ever done a Segway or not. Once in a lifetime experience.
