Captain Billy is an amazing tour guide and the tour was a small group of six. It was great to travel with Captain Billy he is very knowledgeable of the local animals in the community. We were able to see several humpback whales in calm waters on a bright sunny day. With whale watching you need to have patience and a little bit of luck on your side. Captain Billy was able to tell us about the Hoonah community. I highly recommend this tour book it now.

The advertising is false, they do not have any orcas in icy Strait we went out in the boat stopped for over an hour and a half and watch the same three Whales then we turn around and came back

I'm sorry you didn't get to see and orca they are always traveling and you never know when you will get to see and orca

Captain Billy was wonderful. We came to Icy Strait from a cruise and because all of the larger whale watching tours were booked, we went into Hoonah and found Wooshkitaan Tours. Angie had a last minute cancellation, met Captain Billy and climbed aboard. He only takes 6 people which made for an intimate wonderful experience. Billy knew exactly where to go so we saw whales, eagles and ended with a brown bear on the shoreline. The 4 adults and 2 children in our little family said that this was the highlight of our cruise. Our recommendation is to book ahead with Billy because the cruise ship excursions are big and not as much fun. Because of the small boat, few people, and a knowledgeable captain the whales came to us. Highly recommend!
