My husband and I came to Honolulu in December, 2015 2 days prior to boarding our cruise. I had wanted to go parasailing in Kona, but that company was booked for the day we were there. We had already booked a luau and a tour on Oahu, so I booked my parasailing on Saturday morning at 8:00. The next available time, 10:00 wouldn't work because I would need to be able to shower, dress and pack at the hotel before checking out at 11:00. At 2:00 pm Friday while we were on our circle island tour, we received a call. No one else had signed up to para-sail at 8:00. The lady that called stated my choices were either have my husband (who was signed up to ride as an observer) para-sail or go at a different time. Since my husband cannot para-sail and a later time would not work, I reluctantly had to decline. The lady said I couldn't get a refund since it was less than 24 hours before the activity. I stated that I didn't cancel the activity that I booked - they did. Then she told me I would have to get a refund through Viator. I called Viator that night. The representative said they would have to email the local provider to verify I qualified for a refund. I had to call Viator again in January, have them contact Hawaiin Parasail again, to get my refund.
