Come and join us for a 2-Hour Guided Segway Tour at one of the Grand Strand’s most beautiful wetland and wildlife preserves, Huntington Beach State Park in Myrtle Beach. Nature lovers will enjoy the park’s Environmental Education Center for the chance to see Loggerhead Turtles and other endangered wildlife species up close. The park’s freshwater lake along the causeway is a sure-fire place to see Alligators basking in the sun, a variety of bird species, and maybe even a mink or two.

Known for its natural beauty, Huntington Beach State Park was the former winter home of Anna Hyatt and Archer Huntington, sculptress and philanthropist, who left the park and adjacent Brookgreen Gardens as their legacy. Make sure to leave enough time in your day to also visit Atalaya, the picturesque, Moorish-style castle which was their residence and sculpting studios. This tour is around two hours in length with training. Still plenty of time to enjoy the beach and relax before or after your tour.

  • We have the ability to transport necessary items i.e. cameras, phones, drinks, etc. These can be carried in the Segway bag on each unit.
  • Please note there is an entry fee to the State Park and is payable at the main gate. This fee goes to the park authority and is not part of our fee.
  • Patrons need to arrive 30 minutes before tour time. Give an extra 15-20 minutes from what GPS says.
  • Patrons arriving after tour start time will miss out and will not be refunded. We can't keep other patrons waiting.
  • No one over 300 pounds.

Overall this was a good experience, this was our first time on a Segway and we learned a lot from the guide about what to expect, what to look out for and different skills we could use in different situations. We did the Huntington Beach State Park tour and it was a beautiful place to visit. The segways were fun to ride and not as hard to balance as you might think, once you relax it makes you wonder why you would ever hike anywhere again! The most disappointing part of our experience was that one group showed up more than a 1/2 hour late (they ask you to be there 20-25 minutes before they showed up 15 minutes after the tour was supposed to have started). We waited for them to arrive, waited for them to get trained on how to use the Segway and then our tour ended at the scheduled time so I felt like we lost out. So if you do decide to sign up, do your fellow travellers a favor and arrive early. You can look around the State Park, visit the beach and watch the shorebirds in the marsh. Listen to the directions they mail you, our GPS sent us too far, watch for the State Park signs and that is where you turn.

Have always wanted to try a Segway and finally did. Garfield our tour guide/ instructor was very nice and gave us great instructions. It was nice to go to the Sports Park for our first experience. Park was very clean and Garfield was very nice and explained the different trails and areas. I wished we would’ve been able to go to the Huntington Park, maybe make a note on the website that this tour is Monday - Friday highlighted or explain the reason( Garfield explained about the campers on weekend makes it hard to do Segway Tours on weekends) but if it’s your first time this is a GREAT TOUR to try and Garfield was very informative with us on the Segway.

Garfield was a great tour guide and was very patient with the ones in our group that have not been on a Segway before. Loved seeing the State Park and learning about the history. Fun times!!
