This trip is not at all what we expected based on the description. It is not really a “safari“, it is more of a tour taking you to specific view, destinations, and providing you with history. We appreciated hearing the history, but this was not at all, what we expected. Cara, was our tour guide, and she was very friendly, informative, and clearly loves Grand Canyon. She was extremely delightful and enjoyable. No complaints on her whatsoever. It’s just that this tour made us believe we would be doing things more off-road, seeing things that we wouldn’t be able to see without taking the Safari tour. There was literally no “hiking” whatsoever. We walked to a couple of viewpoints and from location to location, but it was not what I would consider a hike at all. We were disappointed and felt that we were misled by the description.

We are happy that you thought your guide was informative and friendly. The tour you took is our Grand Canyon Safari & Rim Walk. I am sorry that you thought the tour name was misleading. We advertise it as a walking tour. On the TripAdvisor site the overview says "With this tour, you'll take the road less traveled to reach the natural wonder, driving along scenic back roads in a comfortable 4WD safari vehicle and avoiding the busy south entrance gate. On arrival, follow your guide on a walking tour along the South Rim and take in the views from Yavapai Point, Lookout Studio, and Bright Angel Trailhead. "

The tour should not be advertised as a ‘safari’. It is more of a tour taking you to view points. No ‘hiking’ involved at all. Our tour guide, Cara, was very informative and friendly. No complaints with her. It’s the way this was advertised that is misleading. It was not at all what we expected and for $120 per person? We found it to be an expensive lesson.
