Canyon de Chelly National Monument has over 2,700 archaeologcal sites located in the heart of the Navajo Nation. Guests will get to see the ruins tucked into sand stone alcoves and rock art such as petroglyphs and pictographs. Rock formations, fauna and floral provides a perfect backdrop to your tour.

At each site you will hear the symbolic interpretations of petroglyphs and rock art seen along their tour, including occupation dates, archaeology and associated prehistoric and historic events in the vicinity including associated oral histories.

All guides are Navajo and have strong ties to the canyon and will provide you with an experience that will last a lifetime.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Canyon de Chelly. The Canyon is breathtaking and the information provided by our tour guide, Elsie, added depth to our experience. Elsie grew up in the Canyon that she described as her backyard as a child. A must do experience if you are in the area.

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our tour of Canyon de Chelly. We were awed by the natural formations, cliff dwellings, and petroglyphs. Our guide Percy was wonderful. We loved his historical stories which made the sights we were seeing much more interesting. Percy shared cultural knowledge, language, and songs with us. His personal experiences and stories of his family and extended family were interesting and their connection with the canyon was obvious. Percy was an amazing guide and we thank him for sharing land, stories, and his time with us.

Our guide Frank did a great job of telling my husband and myself the history of the canyon and pointing out extraordinary artifacts and culture that still remains. Frank was on time picking us and was able to answer our many questions. Great tour! So glad we did a private tour. Be prepared for the rough roads and dust.
