We contacted Wild Wolf Tours via website and email for a private tour while visiting Ketchikan as a port of call on the NCL Bliss. They were quick to respond to our requests. Since we were only going to be in Ketchikan for a few hours, we were worried that we wouldn’t be able to see much. Upon arrival in Ketchikan, it was raining but we were excited to go on the tour that Wild Wolf Tours had recommended. When we got off the ship, we called the contact number and asked if they could get to the port early and they said they would be there in 5 minutes. The port at Ketchikan is somewhat confusing. To meet a private tour, you have to exit the terminal from the door on the far right and then walk through a 40 foot container to the separate parking lot designated for private tours. Our driver (Tracy) quickly got us into the van and drove us to the other side of the island. While driving, she put on a headset and explained things about the island and the people on it. This feature was very enjoyable as everyone in the Van could easily hear her as she talked. She was very informative and pleasant. The 1st stop on our tour was a hike through the forest to a waterfall. Since we are not young anymore, Tracy was careful to explain about the difficulties on the trail but honestly, the trail was pretty easy to navigate. While we walked she did a great job explaining about the vegetation and the area in general. After the hike, Tracy treated us to some Salmon dip and crackers. After the waterfall, Tracy drove us to Potlatch Totem Park. At the park, Tracy walked us through the park and explained all the symbolism of the Totems. After visiting the park, Tracy dropped us off back at the Cruise terminal. Tracy’s attitude, knowledge, pleasant personality and professionalism contributed greatly to this experience. She is one of the top 3 guides I have ever encountered. I highly recommend Wild Wolf Tours and Tracy.

Wow thanks so much for writing such a wonderful review. I am so happy you enjoyed your time with us. What an honor to be named in your top 3! I do want to mention we meet our guests in the terminal building at Ward Cove where Norwegian ships dock. We pick up at each cruise ship, so no need for our guests to walk anywhere else. What a great detailed review!

We had a great tour with Tracy. She picked us up at the cruise port and took us to Totem Bight State Park for an interpretive walk; she explained the meaning of the various symbols on the poles and in the Clan House. She also told us about the lifecycle of the totem pole and the history of the park. Then she drove us to the end of the road for a walk on the Lunch Creek Trail at the Settlers Cove State Recreation Site, where she took us through very pretty areas and told us about the animals and trees along the way. She also talked about the history of the area and what she'd seen growing up in Ketchikan. On the way back to town, she added a surprise stop so we could see (and photograph) eagles and ravens near the waterfront. Then she took us to the Totem Heritage Center so we could continue exploring on our own. I enjoyed the tour; Tracy gave us a thorough overview of totems and Ketchikan and was very responsive to our questions.
