The short version: I really can't recommend 'Moab in a Day' enough! Our trip to Moab was amazing and we had an absolutely perfect day thanks to our tour guide Tom. The business' owner, Paulina, goes above and beyond to make sure her guests are happy - it's truly a boutique tour experience of Moab's National Parks!
The long version: I began putting together my 'National Parks Trip' itinerary in early 2021 (like every American looking to get some cross-country traveling in before the next pandemic-related lockdown). Our plan was to visit Denver/the Rocky Mountains then take the California Zephyr Amtrak train from Denver to Green River Utah for a brief trip to Moab before continuing to California/Yosemite later in the week. We gave ourselves 2 days to explore Moab. I began researching tour company options and came across 'Moab in a Day.' We decided to book the 3-in-1 Arches, Canyonlands, and Dead Horse Point Tour so we could maximize our brief time in Moab exploring the parks. I called the business owner, Paulina, before completing my booking because I had a couple of questions about transportation and the schedule for the day of the tour. Paulina called me back right away - I was worried my family and I (4 people total) wouldn't fit comfortably in a Jeep so she offered to use her Dodge Durango (an SUV) instead. I also asked if we could go back into Arches National Park after dark to do some stargazing and night photography - and to my surprise Paulina said we could absolutely add that experience to our tour itinerary! She called and emailed me prior to the day of our tour and kept in touch with me throughout the trip. The morning of our tour we were greeted by our tour guide, Tom, outside of our hotel. Tom is a retired middle/high school teacher (zoology), aircraft/car mechanic, skydive enthusiast, world traveler, and all-around super outgoing and easy-going guy. He loves Moab and the desert - and loves to tell you all about it! He drove us to Arches National Park first and told us all about the park and the environment. He walked with us to each rock window and offered to take pictures for us so we could get some group photos together as a family (and his photos turned out really good!). He brought us to a couple other sites in Arches Park and then took us to Dead Horse Point for more pictures and lunch. Tom set up a picnic table in the shade and laid out a wonderful lunch that Paulina had put together for us. An assortment of wraps, bags of chips, cookies, fresh fruit, and lemonade. It was great having lunch with Tom and hearing his life stories - he's a very inspiring man. After lunch he took us into Canyonlands for some photo ops before bringing us back to our hotel. We had some downtime before the start of our night tour of Arches, so we took a free shuttle from our hotel to the Sunset Grill in Moab for dinner. Dinner was great, and the sunset/view was fantastic! After dinner (and after it was fully dark outside) Paulina picked us up at the restaurant in her SUV and drove us into Arches Park for some nighttime adventures. Because of the summer wildfire smoke there was a bit of smoke/haze in the sky, but we were still able to see a bunch of big bright stars and I was able to use my camera to take some nighttime photos. It was so cool to be in the park at night and experience the desert in the dark. Paulina was so great, she was excited to take us into the park after dark and pointed out all the park landmarks as we drove past - everything looks so different at night! After giving us some time to enjoy the park and take photos she drove us back to our hotel and dropped us off. All-in-all we had an amazing experience - it was truly the best way to see 'Moab in a Day'! I would highly recommend this business and would absolutely book them again if we came back to Moab! I can't imagine there is a more well-planned, better curated, or more knowledgeable tour company operating in Moab than this one. Thank you, Tom and Paulina, for making our visit to Moab the best part of our whole National Parks vacation!
