This was our 3rd time doing a 4 hour Razor two seater rental. We always have a blast and the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. They provide you with the ATV, helmets if desired, goggles if needed and iced waters. In addition they provide a detailed map with GPS screen and guidance so you really cannot get lost, but can get to see some spectacular country. The area around Sedona is largely National Forest or BLM land so trails and camping areas are all over the place. On the trail people are friendly and helpful, but one needs to be careful on the trails as some are VERY steep and rugged. The only issue I had was that the speedometer had been set to kilometers per mile so while on the paved roads (yes, you can ride these on the paved roads in Arizona) I always felt like I was going slow and the cars behind me got impatient...finally I figured out the issue and speeded up.

Was my husband and I anniversary and we rented a 2 seater ATV for the day. We were super excited until It broke down after 2 hours of use. we then waited over an hour and a half for someone to come help. Finally we took a chance and it started it back up and we were able to make it back ourselves to the rental center. They did nothing for us and blamed us for moving after our first call. I explained we were in the middle of the road with sketchy cellular service so we were able to Get it to drive to a safer location. We called them back immediately to tell them we were able to move And where our new location was, they said no problem mechanic is on his way. Over the next hour we called an additional 4 times to check the status and were told mechanic is on his way. Finally (as we already wasted so much of our special day sitting around waiting in the heat). We drove it back, luckily the check engine light went off long enough for us to get it back to the rental center. When we arrived they blamed us for wasting their mechanics time by moving to a safe place. I tried explaining what we did and how many times we called and no one cared enough. They still charged us $320 which is the half day rate for 2 hours of use. I was completely shocked and it totally ruined our special day. They didn’t attempt to make it right by offering us another machine or comping is for all the troubles. I am not one to complain but this was a horrific experience. Never again will I use them!!! The photo below is of us sitting waiting for a mechanic, I also have experience with Rhinos and ATV’s this was not acceptable treatment. It boiled down to them being busy and not caring enough to make the situation right.

Hi Michelle. We are so sorry about your negative experience. Unfortunately, when a check engine light comes on, we can only send a mechanic out to exchange vehicles if we know where you are located. In your vehicle's case, it was a drive issue that would have taken less than 5 minutes to fix. Generally, he leaves our shop within 2-3 minutes of your call and will bring you a new vehicle to continue your ride. On weekends, traffic can be heavy and we do our best to get out to you as quickly as possible. As you were 3 hours into your ride when your check engine light came on, it did take a little while for our mechanic to reach your location, but since you continued driving, it only prolonged the wait time. We are so happy that we were able to give you a substantial refund on your rental and apologize again for ruining your special day.

Perfect experience until...Our son took a turn too sharply & laid his Ace on its side. He wasn’t hurt & we were ok to pay for damage out of the $3000 deposit. 17 days later, I got the estimate-$4500! Parts, labor & $150 per day x 10 for loss of use! I asked for pictures & the rental agreement. Admittedly, I had not read the 8 PAGE document-and sure enough, there was a per diem clause– but when I questioned it, all I got is “We’re waiting on parts and, because of the virus, we don’t know how long it may be.” I guess I was supposed to be grateful that they only charged me for 10 halfdays but I’ll never believe they turned away business because this unit was out of service. In addition, there was a charge for $210 for the roof. My son’s Ace did not have a roof! They acknowledged “I got my paperwork mixed up” & I got a new estimate $3755-still over the $3000 deposit but I guess I saved the insurance co a few $$. When I called to discuss what I knew was still an over-estimation of the damage, Brian explained that it had to be restored to near-perfect condition to get max trade-in & that’s why the repairs were so extensive. Lucky for them, someone had an accident in their YEAR-OLD OFFROAD RENTAL vehicle before it was time to trade it in AND that there was a virus that kept them from getting parts & repairs to allow max per diem charges when tourism was off 18-23% from last year. I would def do another off-road adventure in Sedona-the scenery was spectacular-but NOT w/Sedona ATV.

As rentals in Sedona are more popular than ever before, we absolutely charge for loss of use when a vehicle has been wrecked...and this is gone over in detail before a customer leaves our parking lot. The ACE rents for $400 per day and we completely sell out on weekends, so we take a hit every day that we can't send it out. Also, we don't trade our vehicles in, they are leased directly through Polaris (we are a Polaris Adventures Partner, so we work very closely with them regarding rentals, repairs, and safety protocol), so yes, they have to be repaired before we rent them out to someone else or turn them back in to Polaris for new models every 4-6 months.
