Waimea Canyon State Park
Driving east to west, you’ll witness a change in vegetation and climate as you transition into the “rain shadow,” characterized by the arid farmland of the island’s leeward side (on the opposite side of mountains from typical trade wind direction). Along the way, we’ll pass through the agricultural towns of Hanapēpē and Waimea and learn the important role they played in Kauaʻi’s history. Your tour continues across the center of the island, winding along the rim of Waimea Canyon and to the North Shore, 4,000 feet (1,220 m) above the spectacular Nāpali Coast. Rainbow-colored canyon walls and cool mountain air create an otherworldly ambiance that’s unlike anything you’ve experienced. We will stop at a couple of the choicest Waimea Canyon overlooks, including one with a view of 800-foot Waipo’o Falls, before beginning our ridge hike from one of the trailheads in Kōkeʻe State Park or Waimea Canyon SP (depending on your private group and local conditions).

Our family of six did a private hiking tour of the Kuilau Ridge Jungle Trail to Mount Wai'ale'ale Viewpoint, with an add on swim at a local swimming spot. I cannot say enough about this trip! Our guide Meghan was absolutely the best, she is extremely knowledgeable of local culture and history, and she shared so much valuable knowledge that would be hard to find elsewhere. I feel like we have a newfound respect for the land and the people here because of this experience. Meghan was very attentive to the needs of each member of our group, we have kids ranging from four years to twelve, and she was very friendly, patient, and helpful with them! She showed us edible plants that we got to eat. She showed us how to show respect to nature. We went to a sacred spring, drank the freshest water you’d ever taste, and presented flowers in thanks. The views were unforgettable, the memories will last a lifetime. Thank you for allowing our family to be a part of this once in a lifetime opportunity, we will always cherish this!

Pleased top hear that Meghan was friendly, patient, and helpful with your family - including the kids ranging in age from 4 - 12. Also to hear that Meghan was extremely knowledgeable of local culture and history - leaving you with a newfound respect for the land and the people here because of this experience. That, along with safety, is the most important part of what we strive for with our tours! Thanks so much for being open to receiving this quality of experience!

We did the Nāpali Coast Cliff Top Tour with guide Nick in March of 2022. Nick took us to some truly beautiful, off the beaten path places on the South said of Kauai. Highly recommend the company and the tour. Thanks Nick!

Our day of hiking with Chris was wonderful! He is very knowledgeable about Hawaiian culture, the vegetation and the terrain we covered. He actively involved us in the decision making of how we wanted to spend the day and made changes accordingly. He was friendly and encouraging and clearly loves what he does. We highly recommend your company and look forward to working with you again! Thank you!
